In football you get a half-time. A respite from the action during which your manager tells you what you’ve done wrong so far, gives you a slice of orange and tries to convince you that you can still win.

 In life, the Covid-19 crisis has been our national half-time, just without the oranges. A chance to look at the mistakes we’ve made and resolve to do better now we’re allowed outside again.

 Half Time, with its gallery of under-dog characters who’ve retained their senses of humour against all odds, is an ensemble comedy drama. The first series follows the people of Bromsfield FC, ‘The Boilers’, as they begin to navigate the choppy waters of their first full football season following the pandemic.
