Being a gifted pianist suffering from chronic performance-related-nausea left Nigel Penny with few career options. Unable to even hack one-to-one peripatetic teaching he eventually found the perfect solution: he is Mr Muzak, cocktail pianist – the bland soundtrack to your romantic meal out. 

However, his attempts to live his life in the background are thwarted by the surprise arrival of his entrepreneurial half-brother, Pav. Pav hooks Nigel up with desperate wannabe singer, Rachel and strong-arms the pair onto the books of his fledgling entertainment agency.
